The position of Senior Tax Lien Specialist is responsible for the ownership of paying property taxes and handling incoming reimbursements.

Senior Tax Lien Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall process for paying subsequent taxes
  • Research payment options and due dates for any new counties in which subsequent taxes are due
  • Coordinate with the Tax Sale team on annual updates for redemption and subsequent tax changes
  • Responsible for overall process of redemptions
  • Perform subsequent post-payment processes
  • In the senior role, onboard, train and mentor new tax lien specialists in all functions and responsibilities of the position including redemptions and phone support
  • Responsible for audit preparation
  • Available to assist with tax sale preparations as needed
  • Responsible for answering GTP phone line
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Business Management
  • Real Estate, related payment processing field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in a county assessor or treasurer role preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills; can successfully organize, lead, and communicate with County/Parish partners
  • Possess impeccable time management and organizational skills coupled with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment – requires individual to be detail-oriented and data-driven
  • Proven problem solver while under pressure and has ability to analyze and compile data in presenting accurate and effective reports
  • Self-starter who is motivated and self-sufficient
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel and external contacts
  • Willing to embrace technology to promote efficient operations and comfortable using software programs to process data
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook and Word programs as well as ability to learn and effectively operate computer and associated software programs
